CONSULTATION GAMES BETWEEN MEMBERS OF BARANGAY WESLEY SO AT CHESSGAMES.COM

This past week the Wesley So page at Chessgames.com was agog with chess activity and excitement with the staging of the consultation games among the Barangay Wesley So members all over the world. The staging of the games was the idea of the Barangay's Supremo Sugardom in order to fastrack the kibitzing in the said page at the time when GM So had no tournament games with the ultimate goal of surpassing the GM Magnus Carlsen page as the most number of page kibitz. So far two exciting games had already been played in a span of five days and the score is tied between the A-K team and the L-Z team.

THE MECHANICS

Sec 1 - How to vote:
1.1 Just type for example (24th move): 24.Bd6 whether white or 24 ... Kg1 if black.

1.2 Be free to kibitz or make suggestions to each other. But if you want to vote just follow the rules above.

1. 3 Two votes of the same move are enough to make it official. The moderator will then update the chess diagram and indicate the time.

1.4 TP (or AM, Agreed Move). If there is no majority vote, team members are given a chance to reach compromise before the 10 minute rule. A player may change his vote for this purpose.

Sec 2 - Time Controls
2.1 There is no limit on the speed, but time limit is set at 10 minutes if players from both sides are around.

2.2 If there is no majority vote in 10 minutes, the first vote is accepted as the official move. This is called the 10-minute rule.

Sec. 3 - Use of Computers
3.1 It is strictly prohibited to use computers programs such as Fritz and Rybka. We expect you to be honest and trustworthy members of BW. The posting of computer analysis is also prohibited. All players are asked to recite the Chess Player's oath (oath of Kabarangay Wesley on Non-Use of Computers).

Sec. 4 - Official Language: English

Sec. 5 - Ignore of the Trolls
5.1 Everyone is requested to put on ignore list any person who is trying to disrupt the game.

Sec. 6 - Continuance of the game.
6.1 The game is designed to be played continuously over 24 hours. 2 players, 1 each from opposing side, with 1 acting as the moderator constitute a quorum and can legally continue the game. 6.2 Reserved Game - opposing teams can move to “reserve” the game for a latter date. The resumption time/date must be agreed on by both parties.
